The 2023 AFCF “Belt and Road” Financial Cooperation Forum was successfully heldIssuing time:2023-11-09 13:57 On the morning of November 9, the 2023 Asian Financial Cooperation Association "Belt and Road" Financial Cooperation Forum was successfully held in Beijing. This forum is also one of the parallel forums of the 2023 Financial Street Forum Annual Meeting, with the theme of "Promoting the joint construction of the 'Belt and Road' and promoting regional cooperation and win-win development". The Asian Financial Cooperation Association was invited by the forum organizing committee as a special partner to co-host this forum with China Galaxy Securities. Pang Kuixia, Deputy Secretary-General of the AFCA, Wang Sheng, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman and President of China Galaxy Securities, Renat Bekturov, President of the Astana International Financial Center and Co-Chairman of the AFCA's "Belt and Road" Financial Cooperation Committee, and Fu Hao, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Stock Exchange's Global Business Development Professional Committee, attended the forum and delivered welcome speeches. Guo Xiangjun, member of the Party Committee, deputy general manager and deputy chief investment officer of China Investment Corporation, Zhang Wencai, member of the Party Committee and deputy president of the Export-Import Bank of China, Zhang Hui, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, Xu Zhengyu, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Zhai Dongsheng, Director of the Belt and Road Initiative Promotion Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Li Yongchun, deputy general manager of the Beijing Stock Exchange, attended the forum and delivered keynote speeches. The forum released two results. One is the Asian Financial Cooperation Association-China Galaxy Securities "Belt and Road" Financial Cooperation Practice Report 2023 (ASEAN Edition), which mainly introduces the economic development of Southeast Asia and the experience and suggestions of Chinese enterprises going global and the introduction of funds and projects in Southeast Asia, as well as the sharing of practical cases of AFCA member units; the other is the "Belt and Road" capital market interconnection fund product, which was jointly released by the Singapore Exchange, Galaxy CIMB and Wells Fargo Fund and managed by Galaxy CIMB and Wells Fargo Fund (listed on the SGX that morning). The forum held two roundtable discussions, which were hosted by Li Qinghua, General Manager of International Business Department of China Galaxy Securities. Among them, the roundtable discussion on "Investment and Financing Empowering the Belt and Road Initiative" was hosted by Yang Rong, Executive Director of the Financial Institutions Department and Head of the North Region Team of DBS Bank (China) Co., Ltd. Xu Jing, Deputy Director of Private Equity Investment Department II of China Investment Corporation, Suga Masahiko, Managing Director of Sumitomo Mitsui Marine and Fire Insurance (China) Co., Ltd., Wang Dapeng, Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank and General Manager of the Northern Region of China Corporate Department and Commercial Bank Department, and Xie Jing, Deputy Director of the Research Department of Silk Road Fund, explained how investment and financing can actively empower the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative from different perspectives such as banks, securities investment, funds, and insurance. The roundtable discussion on "Promoting Capital Market Cooperation along the Belt and Road" was hosted by Zhang Jun, Chief Economist and Dean of Research Institute of China Galaxy Securities. Chen Qing, Managing Director and Chairman of China Region of Singapore Exchange, Thomas Tey, Senior Vice President of Investment Department of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Zhu Jingyu, Head of China Region and Chief Representative of Beijing Representative Office of Deutsche Börse Group, and Carol Fong, CEO of CGS-CIMB Group, shared their experiences and made suggestions on capital market interconnection and other cooperation from the perspectives of exchanges, securities firms and institutional investors. The forum was held in a combination of online and offline formats. More than 150 people from financial regulatory agencies, AFCA members, relevant financial institutions and international organizations from more than 10 countries and regions including China, Hong Kong, China, Macao, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom and Germany attended the forum.
